Marine Applications Retrofit Project – Salvage Floating Cranes
This project involved the comprehensive retrofit of salvage floating cranes in the marine industry, encompassing the following key activities:
- Development of a detailed project schedule and risk register for effective control and mitigation.
- Execution of pre-commissioning measurements for motors and PLC I/O lists to ensure system readiness.
- Tuning and testing of friction and storage winches for optimal performance.
- DC bus capacitor reforming for ACS880 AC drives powering anchor mooring motors.
- Retrofitting and commissioning LV rotor starters for propeller operations.
- Conducting site acceptance tests, including:
- Propeller operation validation.
- Anchor dropping performance.
- Crane load testing in accordance with OEM procedures and DNVGL standards.
The project was successfully completed, meeting all operational and regulatory requirements while ensuring reliability and compliance.
